Project Manager

Summary of Responsibilities

As a Project Manager reporting to the President, the incumbent is responsible for managing all activities, vendors and budgets for each project assigned by the President. The incumbent has a strong commitment to on-time and on-budget delivery. He/she is able to manage new situations that may arise during the work at the client’s site.

Specific Responsibilities

Project start-up component:
  • Build the organization chart and the project charter
  • Conduct start-up meetings with the project team and kickoff meetings with the client
Planning component:
  • Carry out the various preparation meetings
  • Project plan development
  • Development of the ”Master Gestion De Projet” (GDP)
  • Project plan presentation
  • Choice of finishing materials
Implementation component:
  • Conduct coordination meetings with the Superintendent
  • Carry out the financial analysis of the sites
  • Assist with invoice approval
  • Communicate effectively with the client, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Carry out the various inspections (after demolition, finishing…)
  • Conduct follow-up and closing meetings
  • Update the project plan
  • Update the Master GDP
  • Awarding of contracts to subcontractors
  • Special orders
  • Supervision of the production assistant
Internal control component :
  • Presentation to the Executive Committee
  • Send weekly reports to the immediate supervisor
  • Carry out the closing of projects (internal and with clients)

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a project manager or in a similar position (estimator, interior designer etc…)
  • Mastery of MS Office; (knowledge of MS project is mandatory.)
  • Bilingualism (English / French) is essential
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or architecture
